Dolby’s IP security program is a key part of our overall IP protection strategy and makes a significant contribution to the bottom line. The Senior Director of IP Security Strategy will help model our long-term IP security program by providing a combination of corporate guidance and technical advice in order to advance our licensing model for the future. This is a highly visible role, blending the business needs and the controls necessary to protect our investments and revenue streams.



Job Responsibilities:

  • This position will require regular interaction with Dolby’s IP Protection personnel, engineering, various business groups, sales and operations teams as well as third party tool vendors service providers and customers
  • Manage the implementation of any agreed security mechanisms
  • Understand the company and customer business ecosystem to better integrate the IP Security value proposition throughout the supply chain while balancing the needs of both
  • Define, create and deliver Dolby’s IP Security value proposition to our executives
  • Use sound business judgment to influence and change mindsets to drive IP Security as the next frontier in driving profitability and shareholder value
  • Champion cross functional stakeholder efforts to better predict contingent outcomes from both the customer and market competitive perspectives
  • Provide leadership collaboration to current teams evaluating new architectures for protecting Dolby’s Intellectual Property and technologies, focusing on the best balance between cost/complexity/security/flexibility, making these solutions feasible and effective for different platforms and architectures
  • Drive consensus across multiple stakeholder teams in order to obtain buy-in from those groups on proposed solutions

Job Requirements:

  • Able to think strategically and tactically with business results in mind
  • An evangelizer of new and innovative ideas, persuasive communicator able to articulate ideas and thoughts clearly through various means, including written and oral communications with all levels of the organization, especially c-suite
  • Wide-ranging knowledge of IP protection and security landscape
  • Understanding of technology delivery modes in the context of intellectual property and licensing models

Qualification & Experience:

  • MS/BS in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent with at least 10 years industry experience. MBA a plus
